Objective
Levcor – the owner of Post Oak Plaza – envisioned modernizing Houston’s Uptown District through reusing an existing space to highlight longstanding businesses and to attract exciting new tenants. They redesigned existing façades, created a central gathering space, and improved walkability to drive traffic to the 128,770 SF of retail and restaurant space spread across three buildings.
Background
To beautify the exteriors for tenants and attract customers, BRR Architecture reached out to Griesenbeck to provide translucent wall assemblies for several façades in the development.
Solution
Griesenbeck consulted with the architects at BRR and Kalwall engineers to specify, furnish, and install 3,109 SF of high-performance translucent panels. The assemblies modernize the spaces for existing tenants and attract new business and customers to the retail center. In addition, the façade wall systems are designed to withstand windborne debris and to be durable in the face of all the weather that Houston can experience.
Result
This Kalwall installation adds dramatic exterior lighting for tenant businesses, better positioning them to compete as part of the luxury shopping landscape for which Uptown Houston is known.
