Objective
To offer flexible space solutions to staff and students of the new Creekside Elementary School in Montgomery, Texas.
Background
In May 2022, Montgomery County residents approved a bond which included the construction of the district’s 7th elementary school. This new development was intended to help address the expected 45% growth in MISD enrollment in the next decade. To better address the needs of these young students, it was imperative to have several options for non-classroom educational spaces.
Solution
The Griesenbeck team installed a total of four operable walls in the new elementary school – three (3) Kwik-Wall model 2030 manual paired panel operable walls that are each more than 22 feet long and one (1) nearly 25’ long and 9’ high Stella glass operable wall (pictured above) separating the digital lab space from the library.
The 3”-thick paired panel operable walls throughout the school are provided with a durable vinyl finish, and their hinge configurations allow for quick setup. The 49 STC rating means students on either side of the wall can focus on their studies and activities without excess noise.
Result
The new Creekside Elementary Cubs will enjoy more flexibility in their academic spaces for years to come!
