Objective
To modernize Buckalew Elementary—named a 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Elementary School in Texas—in The Woodlands, Texas, to accommodate continued student growth.
Background
In 2023, Conroe voters approved a $39 million bond to renovate two elementary schools: Buckalew and Hailey. The bond funded site improvements, classroom additions, and the construction of a dedicated gymnasium.
To further support teachers and staff, the district required flexible space for instructional coaching and collaborative learning. Conroe ISD selected Kwik-Wall operable partitions to create adaptable environments that meet evolving educational needs.
Solution
The Griesenbeck team installed a Kwik-Wall Model 3030 operable wall measuring 28 feet long by 10 feet high in the newly renovated facility.
These hinged-pair operable walls feature the industry’s most durable 3-inch-thick panels. Their hinge configuration allows for quick and efficient setup, while the 56 STC rating ensures excellent sound control. As a result, students and staff on either side of the partition can focus on instruction and activities without disruptive noise.
Result
Approximately 700 Conroe ISD students now benefit from a more flexible, acoustically controlled learning environment—empowering them to embody their school motto: “Be Kind. Work Hard. Do Your Best.”
