Griesenbeck Honored with National Safety Award by Associated General Contractors of America

RenaePress Release

HOUSTON, TX - August 22, 2024 – Griesenbeck Architectural Products, Inc. (“Griesenbeck”) is excited to announce it has been awarded the National Safety Award by the Associated General Contractors of America (“AGC”). This program was established in 1991 to provide AGC members with a way to evaluate their safety program amongst their peers based on the size of their organization and the type of construction they do. The “NASA” award program – as it is more commonly known – is an opportunity for members with excellent safety records to compete on a national platform.

The National Safety Award is a high honor in the construction industry, recognizing companies that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of their employees, contractors, and partners. Recipients must have either a zero-incidence rate or have an incidence rate below 25 percent of their occupational division’s average during the past calendar year. Griesenbeck received its award as part of the AGC Houston Chapter’s Annual Mid-Year Safety at The Briar Club on August 22nd.

"We are incredibly honored to receive this award from AGC," said Melinda Harvey, Assistant Safety Manager of Griesenbeck. "This award speaks to the hard work our teams in the field do on a daily basis and that they take safety seriously. It is more than a core value printed on orientation papers. It is our standard of work.”

Griesenbeck’s safety program includes training throughout a team member’s time with the company – from orientation and OSHA 10 or 30 requirements depending on the role, extensive supervisor training, then manufacturer-specific installation and safety training – and incorporates regular and unannounced on-site inspections and safety trainings. In addition, Griesenbeck makes it a priority to have both the office and field teams meet multiple times each year to train on safety together. In 2023, Griesenbeck started implementing new safety technologies and now has fleet-wide telematics to help track and improve safety metrics, and that is the first of many incorporations of new technologies to come. These initiatives have not only helped reduce incidents but also fostered a culture where safety is a shared responsibility among all team members.

"Winning this award highlights the dedication of our entire team to maintaining a safe workplace," added Jason Ward, Director of Field Operations. "We are always looking for ways to improve, and we are proud of the team for earning this award."

Griesenbeck thanks the Associated General Contractors for this recognition and its team for putting their best effort in each day to make sure everyone goes home safely.
