Objective
To provide expanded and multi-functional spaces to Community Health Choice, a local, non-profit healthcare organization helping to create “a healthy life for every Texan.”
Background
After over a quarter century of service to the community, it was time to upgrade facilities to better support their mission of “[improving] the health and well-being of underserved Texans by opening doors to healthcare and health-related social services.” The challenge was to maximize the use of the 73,240 SF footprint at the new location. The office and training space needed to be optimized for the variety of services Community Health Choice offers – and with programs spanning the full spectrum of healthcare needs, that was no small undertaking.
Solution
Method Architecture designed the sixth floor to have five (5) motorized operable walls to create up to six training rooms and two different call centers that could be used simultaneously. Each operable wall is 30 feet long and 9 feet high and has a 50 STC sound control rating, ensuring that each space can be used fully and without distraction from neighboring occupants and sessions.
Result
Community Health Choice reinvested in the community in such a way that they are better prepared to meet the needs of underserved Texas for decades to come.
