Our Team
brian groff
Brian is a proud Aggie alum and started with Griesenbeck in 2003 as an Estimator and Project Manager. He was proud to join the business because it offered him "the ability to be a creative thinker, not just a number. He recognized the potential for future growth and valued the overall flexibility this business provides."
When asked how he would describe Griesenbeck to someone unfamiliar with the company, Brian says he'd tell them about our 'personality.' "Work hard, do what's right, have each other's back, lift someone up when they need it, and always be willing to teach and share your wisdom... It's a fast-paced environment, but one where you can be proud of the work you do and have fun while doing it."
Brian has been a part of many milestone jobs for the organization. His favorite? "It's a toss up between Texas A&M University's Zachry Engineering Education Complex renovation and The Ion. Each project was groundbreaking: TAMU's Zachry project included the largest perimeter fire curtain ever installed in the U.S., while The Ion incorporated some of the largest horizontal steel fire doors ever produced."
Q & A
What's your go-to snack during long meetings?
"Black coffee."
Q & A
What's one lesson you learned early in your career that still guides you today?
"Be careful not to overcommit. There's only so much one person can handle, and with my personality as a people-pleaser, it's always been difficult to say no. I've learned that protecting your time ultimately protects the quality of your work and relationships."
Q & A
If you weren't in construction, what would you be doing instead?
"Something in the energy business."
"Never stop learning because there's always room for improvement."
