Our Team

Jason Ward

In 2012, Jason joined Griesenbeck as the General Superintendent and built upon his years of experience in landscaping and golf course construction. What's the biggest change Jason has seen in the industry since he started? "Direct, face-to-face communication has been exchanged for electronic everything. While electronics improved some parts of what we do, we still solve more issues when reviewing them in person."
Jason has led our field teams through thousands of jobs, but one sticks out to him. He was impressed by our Kalwall skylight replacements at Hewlett Packard. "This was the first Kalwall experience that I had when I was new to Griesenbeck. It was a monster project that made a huge impact to the building's aesthetics, both inside and out."
When asked what he hopes to see Griesenbeck achieve in the upcoming decade - by which time Griesenbeck will turn seventy years old - he answers, "Continued growth and expansion. We have some talented installers in the field that will be ready to transition to crew lead and foremen positions in the future."

    Q & A

What's your go-to snack during long meetings?

    "Wait, there are snacks?"

    Q & A

If you weren't in construction, what would you be doing instead?

"I'd probably chase something in the sporting clays industry. When I started competing years ago, I had no idea where that road would take me. I've met some great people and now run the roads more than I ever have in the past, bringing me to parts of the country I would not have visited prior to competing."

    Q & A

What's one lesson you learned early in your career that still guides you today?

"Never underestimate the importance of entry-level employees.  There is a ton of upfront expense to work out, but until you drill the first hole and install your first item, there is nothing to bill for. The first return on your investment usually comes from your most entry-level field employee."

"Share every piece of knowledge and experience you have with your coworkers to allow them to find success along with you."
